Calm the Farm - A Beautiful Mindfulness Yarn is a children’s book written by Sarah O’Sullivan and illustrated by Bec Brown.

A tale of a cranky rooster and the cute farm animals who live on the farm with him. The animals use various mindfulness practices to help themselves when his grumpiness rubs off on them.

A delightful story, this book shows children (and their parents and teachers), the steps of emotional regulation using mindfulness. The animals also demonstrate the practices of mindful eating, walking and breathing.

There is an adult’s guide to mindfulness to explain the concepts in the book and also a link through QR code to audio recordings which can be used with children to practice mindfulness.

Sarah hopes this book and its messages will bring strength, hope and feeling better to all who read it. En-JOY!

Sensational!

A thought provoking and utterly beautiful story for children (and their parents!). The interactions between the farm animals reflect important themes of community, resilience, and transformation. ‘Calm the Farm’ is an utterly stunning book that our whole family has taken a great deal from.

Knowledge is power!

An extremely well thought out story - a lesson for kids AND parents on how to not sweat the small stuff and learn to acknowledge your feelings , in turn manage them to help get back into that all important green zone where all the fun and learning takes place.
